Built in 1965, the Sears building at Pembroke Mall was in serious need of an upgrade. Sears decision to downsize their current sales space to almost a third of the size provided the perfect opportunity. EDC was responsible for converting the building into a new multitenant improvement to the mall, by demising and splitting the building, and building out tenant spaces for a new DSW, Nordstrom Rack and The Fresh Market.

Construction included all new utilities, new roof, a new truck dock and re-facing the building with new tenant specific façade treatments on all three sides. In addition EDC demolished the existing Sears Auto Center and replaced it with a new ground-up, REI store.
