EDC was retained in 2010 to assist Hollins with the design, bidding, and construction of a Housing Village designed to bring students closer to the heart of campus and its amenities- classes, dining, and athletics. With a focus on sustainability and an accelerated timeline, home-style residences have been constructed in two phases, with a third phase expected soon.

The houses consist of single and double bedrooms with communal living spaces, kitchens, private bathrooms, washers and dryers, and wrap around front porches. Phase I included four houses with accommodations for 40 students, with Phase II following the next summer with three more homes for 28 students. Phase III, a further expansion of three houses, is planned to start construction in summer 2021.
