EDC was retained along with Ballinger Associates to assist R-MC in the programming, planning and design of a 30,000 SF new building linked to the existing Copley Science Center.

The three-floor building includes state-of-the-art teaching and research labs for biology, chemistry, and environmental science. It is also home to faculty offices and conference rooms for mentoring students. The design supports collaborative, integrated lab and lecture space to provide students with hands-on learning experiences.

The LEED Certified building includes a high-performance HVAC system utilizing chilled beams and dual energy recovery wheels for energy efficiency. Daylight harvesting and programmable roller window shades help optimize the use of natural light.
